About the Patient
Mr Shivaji Muchute from Nanded was facing a serious cardiac condition that required immediate specialized care. He was brought to Medicover Hospitals, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where he was evaluated by Dr Sumit Shejol (Consultant Cardiologist) and Dr Manish Puranik (Consultant CTVS). After a detailed assessment, he was advised to undergo a Double Valve Replacement surgery. The procedure was successfully completed, and he is now recovering well with proper follow-up care.
In the Patient's Words
"My uncle was treated at Medicover Hospitals for his heart problem. Dr Sumit Shejol and Dr Manish Puranik explained everything clearly and performed a successful double valve replacement surgery. We are very thankful for the support and care provided by the entire staff."- Shivaji Muchute.
What is a Heart Valve Problem?
The heart has four valves that help blood flow in the correct direction. When one or more valves do not open or close properly, it causes:
- Breathlessness
- Chest discomfort
- Fatigue during activities
- Swelling in legs due to poor circulation
Valve problems may include:
- Stenosis: The valve becomes narrow and restricts blood flow
- Regurgitation: Valve leaks and allows blood to flow backward
What Treatment did we provide to Mr Shivaji Muchute at Medicover?
To restore proper blood flow and protect heart function, Double Valve Replacement (DVR) surgery was performed. This involved:
- Removing the damaged valves
- Replacing them with artificial (prosthetic) valves
- Ensuring smooth blood circulation and reduced strain on the heart
The surgery was performed by Dr Manish Puranik with successful results. Post-operative care included monitoring heart function, medications, and guided recovery. Mr Muchute is now stable and progressing well under follow-up care at Medicover Hospitals.
