What is Clavam?
Clavam 625 Tablet is an antibiotic. It's used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, airways, ears, urinary tract, skin, bone, joints, soft tissue, and teeth, among other things. It is a tablet that combines two antibiotics: amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin destroys the bacteria that cause infections, and Clavulanic acid helps maintain an optimal level of Amoxicillin by inactivating the enzymes that break it down.
Clavam Uses
Clavam 625 Tablet is a penicillin-type antibiotic that helps to fight against various bacterial infections. It's used to treat infections of the lungs, ear, sinuses, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue. It won't help with respiratory infections like the common cold. The medication mainly contains two active ingredients: penicillin called amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Clavam tablet belongs to the penicillin group of antibiotics. Mainly the medication is used for the treatment of ear infection, nose infection, throat infection, lower respiratory tract infection, skin infection, stomach ulcers and febrile neutropenia.

Precautions

Some rare symptoms of allergic reactions include skin rash, itching, difficulty while breathing and swelling of face or tongue. A person might experience some serious liver problems after using Clavam tablets. Check for the expiry date of the medicine before using it. Without asking your doctor doesn’t give the medication to anyone else as it can lead to some serious side effects. You should also let your healthcare team know about all other medicines you are taking as they may affect this medicine.
How to use Clavam?
Clavam 625 MG Tablet should only be taken as prescribed by your doctor, and it should be taken at the same time every day to prevent missing doses or overdosing. The tablet should not be crushed or chewed, and it should be taken with or without food, depending on the doctor's advice.
The quantities stated should be strictly followed. Clavam 625 is recommended to be taken twice a day. The drug quantity normally depends on the severity of the infection. The medications should be taken for three to five days.
Clavam 625- It has 500 mg of Amoxycillin that is an antibiotic.
Clavam 375- It has 250mg of Amoxycillin.
Overdose
High doses of Clavam 625 Tablet can cause severe kidney damage and fits. Stomach upset, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, and fluid retention are all signs of an overdose. If you think you've taken too much of this drug, call your doctor or go to the nearest hospital right away.
Missed Dose
It is important not to skip any antibiotic doses because this may lead to treatment failure. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and stick to your daily dosing schedule.
Storage
Direct contact with heat, air and light may damage your medicines. Exposure to medicine may cause some harmful effects. The medicine must be kept in a safe place and out of children’s reach. Mainly the drug should be kept at room temperature between 68ºF and 77ºF (20ºC and 25ºC).

Kidney Disease
In patients with kidney disease, Clavam 625 Tablet should be used with caution. Clavam 625 dosage needed to be adjusted. Patients with serious kidney failure should not take this drug.
Liver Disease
In patients with liver disease, Clavam 625 Tablet should be used with caution. Clavam 625 dosage needed to be adjusted. When taking this medication, you should get your liver function tested on a regular basis.
Pregnancy
Clavam 625 Tablet is commonly thought to be safe during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown that there are rare negative effects on the developing baby; however, human studies are minimal.
Breastfeeding
It is healthy to take Clavam 625 Tablet while breastfeeding. According to human tests, the medication does not transfer into the breastmilk in large quantities and does not affect the infant.
