Ceftum

  • Ceftum 500 MG Tablet is an antibiotic that belongs to the class of drugs called cephalosporin. It's used for the treatment of various bacterial infections in the lungs, nose, mouth, ears, skin, and urinary tract, which includes the kidneys, bladder, ureters, and urethra. It's also used to treat Neisseria gonorrhoea, a sexually transmitted infection that affects both men and women. This tablet prevents or destroys the bacterium that causes the infection. Ceftum also contains active ingredients called cefuroxime. Cefuroxime is a higher antibiotic that belongs to the class of drugs called cephalosporins. This works by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis of bacteria that ultimately leads to the death of the bacteria.

This drug interferes with the bacteria's ability to shape cell walls. The survival of bacteria is dependent on their cell walls.
