Successful Heart Procedure in a Hemophilia Patient by Medicover Hospitals Doctors in Nashik
05th Nov 2025 | Medicover Hospitals | NashikA patient suffering from hemophilia was admitted to Ashoka Medicover Hospital, Nashik, with severe chest pain and difficulty in breathing. On examination, the patient was diagnosed with a major heart attack. Angiography revealed that a major blood vessel in the heart was 95% blocked. Considering this situation, primary angioplasty was a must. But since the patient had hemophilia, the risk of bleeding during the procedure was very high.
Coordinated Cardiac and Hematology Management
Hemophilia is a hereditary blood disorder in which the body lacks an essential clotting factor (Factor VIII). This puts patients at a high risk of severe bleeding, even from minor injuries. However, performing a heart procedure like angioplasty becomes extremely challenging and risky.
In this complex situation, our experts, Dr Kanchan Bhambre (Cardiologist) and Dr Nilesh Vasekar (haematologist), worked together to prepare a special treatment plan. Before starting the procedure, the patient was given a Factor VIII injection. This reduced the risk of bleeding.
With careful planning and close coordination between the teams, the angiography and primary angioplasty were successfully performed. There was no bleeding during the treatment, and the patient made a complete recovery.
