Mrs Indra Bhagawan Mathre was diagnosed with kidney stones that required medical intervention. After visiting multiple hospitals, she came to Medicover Hospitals, Sangamner and consulted Dr Yogesh Sambhaji Torkadi. On evaluation, the kidney stones were found to be large in size, and surgery was recommended as the most suitable treatment approach. The procedure was successfully completed and the patient recovered well.
In the Patient's Words
"My mother was diagnosed with kidney stones, and despite consulting at several hospitals, we couldn't find a proper treatment plan. When we visited Medicover Hospitals in Sangamner and met Dr Yogesh Torkadi, he thoroughly checked her reports and suggested an operation.
The treatment was considered a little risky due to the large size of the stones, but under Dr Yogesh's supervision, the operation was a success. I am truly grateful for his support and care throughout the treatment. The staff and the whole team of doctors were cooperative and caring. Today, my mother is healthy and lives without pain. - Komal (Daughter of the patient)
What are Kidney Stones?
Kidney stones are hard, crystalized deposits made of minerals and salts that form inside the kidneys. These stones can vary greatly in size and composition. They often form when urine becomes concentrated, allowing minerals to crystallize and stick together. The most common types include calcium stones, struvite stones, uric acid stones, and cystine stones.
While small stones may pass naturally without intervention, larger stones can cause severe pain, often described as one of the most agonizing types of pain, usually felt in the back and side, radiating to the lower abdomen and groin. Other symptoms can include blood in the urine, nausea, vomiting, and frequent urination. If left untreated, kidney stones can lead to serious complications such as urinary tract infections, obstruction, and kidney damage.
