About Shubhya Singh's Treatment
Shubhya Singh's health journey involved two separate episodes of Dengue Fever, making her case particularly challenging. She was initially treated at Medicover Hospitals, Navi Mumbai, under the care of a Senior Consultant Physician and Diabetologist. Although she recovered after her first admission, she unfortunately required readmission shortly afterward.
During her second visit, Shubhya experienced restlessness caused by dietary issues and a reaction to her prescribed medication. Recognising the seriousness of her condition, Dr Pendse and the medical team acted promptly. She received focused medical attention, careful reassessment, and continuous monitoring to stabilise her condition.
The coordinated care and timely intervention during her second admission played a crucial role in her complete recovery, reinforcing the importance of consistent follow-up and expert supervision in dengue management.
Patient Words
I battled dengue twice, and Medicover Hospitals supported me through both phases. After recovering the first time, I had a setback and had to be readmitted. Once again, Dr Manish Shriram Pendse's timely treatment and clear medical guidance helped me recover fully. I am truly grateful for the continuous care and support I received, which made a big difference during my second admission.
What is Dengue Fever?
Dengue Fever is a viral illness transmitted by the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes. It is common in tropical and subtropical regions and can range from a mild illness to a severe, potentially life-threatening condition.
Common symptoms of dengue include:
- Sudden onset of high fever
- Severe headache and pain behind the eyes
- Intense muscle and joint pain (often called breakbone fever)
- Extreme fatigue
- Nausea, vomiting, and skin rash
There is no specific antiviral treatment for dengue. Management focuses on supportive care, careful fluid balance, and close monitoring especially during the critical phase when platelet levels may drop and complications can occur.
