Frequently Asked Questions
Any lump in the neck that persists for more than two weeks should be evaluated by a specialist. While many are benign (non-cancerous), it is crucial to rule out thyroid issues, lymph node infections, or tumors. Dr. Reddy uses diagnostic tools like Nasal Endoscopy and Fine Needle Aspiration to provide a quick and accurate diagnosis.
Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) is a minimally invasive procedure where the surgeon uses a small camera (endoscope) to clear blocked sinuses through the nostrils. There are no external incisions or scars. This leads to faster recovery, less pain, and a quicker return to daily activities.
Persistent loud snoring or mouth breathing in children is often a sign of enlarged tonsils or adenoids. This can affect their sleep quality and growth. Dr. Reddy specializes in pediatric endoscopic procedures to restore normal breathing and prevent long-term complications.
Small perforations may heal with medical management; however, larger or persistent holes often require a Tympanoplasty. This is a delicate microsurgery to repair the eardrum, prevent recurrent infections, and improve hearing.
Hoarseness lasting more than three weeks, especially in smokers or heavy voice users, requires a Videostroboscopy or Flexible Laryngoscopy. This allows Dr. Reddy to visualize the vocal cords in high definition to rule out nodules, polyps, or early-stage lesions.
Recovery varies by procedure. Minor endoscopic surgeries often allow patients to go home the same day. More complex head and neck oncology surgeries may require a few days of hospital stay. Dr. Reddy’s team provides a comprehensive post-operative care plan to ensure a smooth recovery.
