Trihexyphenidyl is a prescription drug that comes in the form of oral solution and oral tablets. It is used to treat symptoms of Parkinson’s disease such as stiffness, tremors, spasms and poor muscle control. Trihexyphenidyl Uses:

Trihexyphenidyl medication is used for treating Parkinsonism which includes Parkinson’s disease. This is also used for treating severe movement side effects which are caused by antipsychotic drugs. Trihexyphenidyl belongs to anticholinergics. The medication works by blocking the natural substance- Acetylcholine. Trihexyphenidyl tablets help in decreasing the muscle stiffness, sweating and production of saliva which helps to improve the walking ability of people with Parkinson’s disease.

Trihexyphenidyl can some of the serious muscle spasms of back, neck and eyes which are sometimes caused by psychiatric drugs.

Keep a gap of 1-2 hours between Trihexyphenidyl and specific drugs you are taking for diarrhoea. Trihexyphenidyl should be taken at least 2 hours of ketoconazole.

Missed dose:

Mainly the drug should be kept at room temperature between 68ºF and 77ºF (20ºC and 25ºC).
