Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, eye/nose irritation, and sneezing. It is often used to treat hives and itching. It works by blocking a natural chemical produced by your body during an allergic response (histamine). Levocetirizine has little effect in deterring, preventing, or treating severe allergic responses (such as anaphylaxis). If your doctor has prescribed epinephrine to treat allergic reactions, always have your epinephrine injector with you. Do not try to use levocetirizine in place of epinephrine.
